John brings over 30 years of experience in housing, physical and community regeneration. He played an active role in the development of the housing association movement for over 15 years. Between 1992 and 1995 John chaired the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, influencing national housing policy.
John was a founding director of ODS Consulting in 1996, establishing the organisation as one of Scotland's leading research and consultancy companies.
John is perceptive and accomplished at exploring complex social problems and potential solutions. He has a keen political awareness at local and national level, and fully understands the context in which public, voluntary and community organisations work in Scotland.
John has led our teams undertaking numerous studies designing, delivering and evaluating national and local programmes and services. He brings extensive experience of supporting disadvantaged communities to have greater influence over the nature of the services they receive and the ways in which they are delivered.
